(3) Other Interruptions During Automatic Operation
There are instances when the CP-643E will be interrupted during automatic operation
because of one of the following two reasons.
1. If calculation of placing data does not finish in time
If by chance the calculation of data used in placing parts does not finish in time,
automatic operation will be interrupted until these calculations have been completed.
In this case the message "Calculating Placing Data" will display on the screen. Once
these calculations have finished, return to automatic operation and start again.
2. If vision processing does not finish in time
If vision processing is not completed in time, automatic operation will be interrupted
until processing has been completed. In such a case the message "Vision processing"
will display on the screen. Once vision processing has finished, return to automatic
operation and start again.

(4) Press START
During automatic or step operation, when the command [AUTO], [STEP] or [POSITION]
have been chosen and the machine can safely carry out the operation requested, the
“Press START” message will appear. Press the START button after ensuring the machine
can safely carry out the operation.
(5) When the Machine Cannot Run
The following display will appear when the machine cannot start its next function.
When the problem displayed has been fixed the “Press START” message will appear.
Pressing the RETURN command key will restore the former situation without solving
the problem.
(6) Device Table Information in Device Change Mode
During device change mode operation when the feeder runs out of parts, the original
table will change and a display like the one below will be displayed. This display will
not disappear until parts have been set and the program has been changed.

1.4 Glossary
This chapter defines some of the terms used throughout this manual.
Advance Pick-Up
To increase throughput, parts are picked up for the next board, while that board is being
loaded.
Device Table
A rack onto which tape feeders are loaded, including the moving rack at the rear of CP-
series machines.
Global Skip Mark
Like a block skip mark, the machine inspects a specified location on the board for a mark
(this is the block skip mark position for block 0). If a mark is detected, the machine
knows that one of the blocks is to be skipped. In this case it will proceed with the
reading of all block skip mark areas. If no mark is detected, the machine knows all
blocks are to be produced. Global marks can be used to save the machine from having to
inspect for all the block skip mark areas on every board.
Inching
The action of manually moving one of the machine axes using the inching keys at the
machine control panel.
In/Out Carrier
The two mechanisms located over the in- and out-conveyor, which carry the board(s) to
and from the XY-table.
In/Out Lifter
The metal plates on the inside of the in- and out-conveyor which raises or lowers the
board(s) for clamping or releasing on the in- /out-carrier.
Proper Data
This is the data transmitted to the machine from the supervisor computer (MCS/F4G)
which provides the machine with all the data necessary for it to carry out operation
based on a production program. For example, Proper data tells the machine the position
of the cameras fitted on the machine.
Multiblock Board
A board which is made of smaller boards, which are divided up after the board is
complete. The smaller boards may be cut apart or simply snap apart as is the case with
multiblock boards using break away panels. Multiblock is also referred to as multipanel.
Nozzle Holder
A nozzle holder is attached to the end of each of the twenty placing heads on the turret.
Each nozzle holder can hold up to six different nozzles (see also Turret).
