(2) Change Due to Change of Table Mode
• When changing from joint mode to changeover or device change mode, table 1 will
automatically become the original table. If the original table is specified in the
program, that table will be used when changing to device change mode.
• When switching from changeover mode or device change mode to joint mode, there
will be no original table.
• When switching from changeover mode to device change mode, the original table will
remain the same.
Every time the operations described in (1) and (2) above are dealt with, the original table
is changed and it is shown at the display. Press [SET], [STATUS] and [TABLE MODE] to
reach command Page 513/000 to change the original table if the selected original table is
different from the actual table to be used.
1.1.4 Device Tables: Part Pick-up Position and Resupply Position
There are two separate device tables each with 70 for CP-643E (50 for CP-643ME) device
positions. Each table can be resupplied at its respective resupply position.
There are 3 possible table modes that can be set to determine how the device table is to
be used. During operation the device table will move automatically to either its part
pick-up position or to its resupply position depending on the following conditions.
(1) Conditions for Moving to the Part Pick-up Position
The appropriate device table will move to its part pick-up position under any of the
following conditions.
• During production in joint mode, when the device table to be used in the program is at
its resupply position.
• During production in device change mode, when the original table is out of parts and
the spare table is in parts set complete status.
• During production in device change mode, when the original table is changed to the
spare table in the resupply position which is in parts set complete status.
• During production in changeover mode, when the table that has been resupplied is set
as the original table.
• When the device number is specified using [POSITION] commands.

(2) Conditions for Moving to the Resupply Position
The appropriate device table will move to its resupply position under any of the
following conditions.
• During production in changeover mode, when the device table in the part pick-up
position is not the original table.
• During production in device change mode, when the original table in the part pick-up
position runs out of parts.
• When [D RESUPPLY] command is used to move the device table to the resupply
position.
(3) Shutter Operation
The appropriate shutter will open prior to the movement of the respective device table.
At any other time, the shutters will remain closed.
1.1.5 XY-Table Height Adjustment
In order to reduce the increased stress that is exerted on parts during placement, the
placement surface is aligned with the height given in part data by means of up and down
control of table movement via a Z-axis servo.
Note: On the CP-643E since the board clamp reference surface is the lower surface, which has
been the upper surface for CP-6/642, it is necessary to enter the PCB thickness item in
production program.
The Z-axis height during the placing operation thus becomes “Z0 - PCB thickness - part
height”.
When a block skip mark or fiducial mark is read or when board check is carried out, it is
done at the position defined by “Z0 - PCB thickness - 5.0 mm”.
Furthermore if a part is rejected, the Z-axis descends unconditionally in order to avoid
interference between parts that have been placed on the board and the part being rejected.

1.1.6 Parts Supply Position
The following explains parts supply position settings where device tables move, when
the machine stops with parts run out, etc. during automatic operation.
(1) Joint Mode
Two modes of operation are available depending on the Proper data settings.
The item in Proper data that must be set is 142: D ESC SW.
• If this item is set to NO
If the part which has caused the alarm is a table 1 device, then the device table will
move to a device position 45 positions higher than the device number in question. The
device table will wait for parts to be supplied at that position.
If the part is set on table 2, then the device table will move to a device position 45
positions lower than the device number in question. The device table will wait for
parts to be supplied at that position.
• If this item is set to YES
If the part causing the alarm is set on device table 1, the table will move to the right
side (as viewed from the front of the machine) to its resupply position.
If the part causing the alarm is set on device table 2, the table will move to the left (as
viewed from the front) to wait at its resupply position.
(2) Device Change Mode
If the part causing the alarm is set on device table 1, the table will move to the right side
(as viewed from the front of the machine) to its resupply position.
If the part causing the alarm is set on device table 2, the table will move to the left (as
viewed from the front) to wait at its resupply position.
However, if the recovery mode is set as error stop or if the number of recovery attempts
is reached for any reason other than the set value specified in Proper data item 78. D
Change Trigger, device table change processing will not be carried out. In this case, it is
possible to select one of two supply positions using a Proper data setting. The Proper
data item to be set in this case is 142: D ESC SW.
• If this Proper data item is set to YES
The device table will move to its resupply position.
• If this item is set to NO
Device table movement will be the same as it is in joint mode.
(3) Changeover Mode
In Changeover mode there are two types of movement modes that can be set in Proper
data. The item in Proper data that must be set is 142: D ESC SW.
• If this item is set to NO
Device table movement will be the same as it is in joint mode.
• If this Proper data item is set to YES
Then the device table in question will move to its resupply position.
If device table 1 is used in automatic operation, the table will move to the right (viewed
from the front of the machine) to its resupply position. If device table 2 is used it will
move to the left (viewed from the front of the machine) and wait at its resupply
position.
