1.1 Product information
1.1.1 General information about the product
This operating manual is universally valid for Ersa Selective soldering system of the
Versaflow series.
1.1.2 Intended use
The machine was built according to state-of-the-art technology and generally ac-
cepted technical safety rules. However, the machine may pose some residual risks,
in particular if it is improperly operated by untrained staff or not used as intended.
The machine is only intended for the automatic selective soldering of wired assem-
blies under a protective gas atmosphere. Any other use that is beyond the scope of
such use shall be deemed as improper. The manufacturer/supplier will not be liable
for any damage resulting thereof. Intended use also comprises the observance of
the operating manual as well as the safety instructions.
1.1.3 Retrofitting, changes
Unauthorized modifications and / or changes that affect the security of the ma-
chine are not permitted and exclude any liability of the manufacturer / supplier for
any resulting damage. The machine is only intended for commercial use. Private
use is generally excluded.

1.2 Information about this manual
1.2.1 General information about the operating manual
The purpose of this OM is to fully inform the operator of the machine mentioned
on the cover sheet about the purchased product, its installation and commission-
ing, general machine functions, malfunctions and their removal, maintenance as
well as spare and wearing parts. To prevent damage to people or the machine, the
operating and service personnel must have read and understood the OM before
the first commissioning.
The manufacturer/supplier cannot be held liable for any damage or failure resulting
from non-observance.
DANGER
Personal injury or material damage due to the machine inadequate service and im-
proper operation!
a) The people who are in charge of assembly, commissioning, operation and/or
maintenance in the machine owner's plant must have read and understood the
entire operating instructions and in particular the "Safety Instructions" Chapter.
b) Nevertheless, the machine owner must appoint one person on its plant who is re-
sponsible for the machine described in this manual. This person must be well
versed in the field of soldering!
1.2.2 For your safety
Ersa products are developed, produced and tested in compliance with the basic
safety requirements.
Nevertheless, residual risks still exist!
For this reason, please read this operating manual before operating the machine
for the first time. The operating manual helps you master all the functions and use
them optimally.

a) Each person who is in charge of assembly, commissioning, operation and/or main-
tenance of the machine must have read and understood the chapterSafety in-
structions, as well as the chapters which are relevant for the specific activity!
b) The operator is advised to have this confirmed in writing!
c) In addition, for machine operation, local safety and accident prevention regula-
tions must also be complied with!
d) Always keep these instructions near the machine, in a place accessible to all users
at any time!
