3.5.5 Solder pot in general
DANGER
Severe or fatal injury from hot machine! Hot pot containing molten metal!
ü For any work being carried out, take the following safety precautions:
a) Touching the pot during operation is forbidden!
b) Allow the pot to cool down to room temperature before carrying out service and
cleaning work! On this regard, observe the solder temperature at the machine
terminal!
c) During the solder heating and cooling, molten metal can splash out of the pot!
The machine protective plates must therefore remain closed during heating and
cooling!
d) Open protective plates only when the solder has solidified completely.
e) Service and cleaning work on hot pots must always be carried out by trained and
qualified personnel!
WARNING
Electromagnetic fields!
Hazardous for people with pacemakers or implanted defibrillators!
a) In the soldering modules of this soldering system an electromagnetic pump is
used. During operation electromagnetic fields occur in the immediate area. Vul-
nerable people need to keep a minimum safe distance of 10 cm from the induc-
tion pump during its operation.
3.5.5.1 Servicing and cleaning the hot solder pot
WARNING
Severe or fatal injury from hot machine! Pot containing molten metal!
ü For any work being carried out, take the following safety precautions:
a) Service and cleaning work on hot pots must always be carried out by trained and
qualified personnel!
b) Create and follow an internal operating procedure for protective clothing!
CAUTION
Fine dust may irritate the skin, respiratory tracks and mucous membranes!
Wear suitable protective clothing and use suitable tools!
ü Please observe the following notes:
a) Do not use a household vacuum cleaner! This device should fulfil the M device
classification (or a better one).
b) Switch on the machine suction unit!
c) Wear gloves, respiratory protection and protective glasses!
d) Do not smoke, eat or drink!
e) Dispose of the dusts environmentally compatible!

WARNING
Please wear protective clothing!
a) Wear safety shoes, face protection, gloves, protective apron!
b) The protective equipment must be suitable for handling hot objects!
c) Touching the hot solder surface is forbidden even with gloves!
3.5.5.2 Manually refilling solder
WARNING
Severe or fatal injury from hot machine!
a) When manually refilling solder, liquid metal can splash out of the solder pot!
Manual solder refilling must always be carried out by trained, qualified personnel!
b) When heating up the pot, keep the machine protective plates closed! Open the
protective plates only if the pumps turn on in the pot!
c) During the melt cooling, keep the machine protective plates closed! Open the
protective plates only when the solder has solidified completely.
d) Wear safety shoes, face protection, gloves, protective apron!
3.5.5.3 Automatic solder feeding (solder bars, solder wire)
When dealing with solder bars and solder wire, special precautions must be taken
WARNING
Death or serious injury due to hot machine, risk of health effects!
a) Solders are hazardous to your health! Touch solder bars and solder wire only
when wearing protective gloves!
b) The solder bars and bar solder feeder itself can become very hot! Touch the
solder bars and solder feeder parts exclusively with heat-resistant protective
gloves!
c) After handling solder and taking off your protective gloves, wash your hands thor-
oughly!

3.5.5.4 Maintenance on hot DIP solder pots On The Fly (optional)
This feature is optionally available for machines with 2 DIP soldering modules. It al-
lows servicing the first DIP soldering module with the second one continuing to op-
erate. In this case, the operation mode [Automatic mode] is not exited. The ma-
chine has been equipped with the protection devices required for this purpose.
Despite this, there are still some residual risks!
DANGER
Severe or fatal injury from hot machine!
The entire machine is hot during operation and contains liquid metal!
a) Service on the hot machine may only be carried out by specially trained staff,
qualified for this type of work! For these types of work, a company internal oper-
ating procedure for protective clothing is to be issued!
b) You should always take into account the possibility for metal to spray out!
c) Special care is required when refilling the pot and working on the pot!
NOTE
Use suitable protective equipment!
When performing any work on a hot pot, protective clothing must be worn:
a) Safety shoes
b) Face protection
c) Heat resistant gloves
d) Heat resistant apron
WARNING
Death or severe injuries are possible with rolled out soldering module!
ü If the soldering module stands on the solder pot trestle while it is hot:
a) Shut off the work area with a red and white safety chain and a warning sign.
b) Remove possible tripping areas!
As the machine continues to operate during maintenance, also the conveyor sys-
tem continues to run! The following restrictions must be observed:
