e) Move the screws of the bayonet catches one after the other with a suitable
tool. While doing so, press the nozzle plate slightly downwards.
ð As a result, the nozzle plate is completely lowered onto the pressure cham-
ber.
f) Turn the rotary switch (D) on the control console clockwise.
ð This will turn on the solder wave. Do not operate the pump unnecessarily
long without nitrogen gassing. Otherwise, an unnecessarily large amount
of solder dross is generated.
g) Wait for approximately 10 minutes until the nozzle plate has warmed up and
the solder has reached its target temperature again.
h) Remove the removing tools.
i) Secure the nozzle plate using the socket spanner as shown.
j) When fixing the nozzle plate, always start at zero point (C) and proceed accord-
ing to the numbering shown.
k) Clean all inlet holes with a circular brush.
l) Visual inspection of the solder wave height:
ð Nozzles must be uniformly filled with solder; the wave height must be the
same for each nozzle.
ð The process has now been completed.

Inserting the solder pot into the machine
NOTE
To move the DIP solder pot out of the service position, acknowledge the service
message
To be able to move the DIP solder pot out of the service position, acknowledge the
corresponding service message. Afterwards, you will have five minutes to move the
DIP solder pot out of the service position. During this time, a corresponding notice will
be displayed. If the DIP solder pot has not been moved after this time, a timeout mes-
sage appears. After acknowledging the timeout message, you will have another five
minutes to move the DIP solder pot out of the service position.

ü To insert the solder pot into the machine:
a) Turn the switch (3) to the position shown on the control console.
b) Press and hold both buttons (4) simultaneously.
ð The solder pot is now conveyed into the machine and will stop automatic-
ally in its end position.
c) Release the buttons (4).
d) Remove the solder pot trestle (2).

8.11.9 DIP soldering module (multiwave) with induction pump: Solder pot
replacement (optional)
The solder pot replacement is carried out with hot, but solidified solder. Therefore,
the following safety instructions must be strictly followed:
DANGER
Severe or fatal injury from hot machine!
The entire machine is hot during operation and contains liquid metal!
a) Service on the hot machine may only be carried out by specially trained staff,
qualified for this type of work! For these types of work, a company internal oper-
ating procedure for protective clothing is to be issued!
b) You should always take into account the possibility for metal to spray out!
c) Special care is required when refilling the pot and working on the pot!
DANGER
Risk of death or serious injury due to liquid metal; danger of material damage!
When moving the hot solder pot, liquid metal may leak!
ü Before replacing the DIP solder pot:
ü The DIP solder pot can only be replaced by specifically trained personnel!
ü Shut off the work area with a red and white safety chain and a warning sign!
ü Remove any tripping areas.
ü Move both solder pots only when the solder has solidified completely!
a) Always seek the help of second worker to replace the DIP solder pot!
b) To transport the solder pot, always use the specific replacement rack and the spe-
cific lifting cart!
c) Under no circumstances can the replacement rack and the lifting cart be modified
or tampered with!
d) Always move the solder pot carefully when transporting it!
DANGER
Risk of death or serious injury due to liquid metal; danger of material damage!
After replacing the solder alloy, the correct value of the solder melting temperature
must always be set in the machine software!
ü After replacing the solder alloy:
ü Solder alloy can only be replaced by qualified personnel, specifically trained for
this job!
a) After replacing the solder alloy, the correct value of the melting temperature of
the solder alloy used must always be set in the machine software!
