3.5 Safety instructions for certain machine and system parts
3.5.1 Conveyor system in general
WARNING
Crushing danger! Risk of injury due to body parts squeezing!
a) Do not reach into the machine when it is running!
WARNING
Entanglement hazard! Risk of injury due to body parts, clothes or hair being drawn
in!
a) Wear tight-fitting, suitable protective clothing!
b) Button up shirts and jackets! Button up sleeves!
c) For long hair: Wear a hairnet or headgear!
d) Do not wear any scarves, shawls, necklaces and jewellery!
DANGER
Risk of injury due to gloves entrapment!
ü When working on the running conveyor system:
a) Let the machine cool down to room temperature!
b) Do not wear gloves!
c) Keep fingers away from moving parts (transport chains, gear wheels, gear racks)!
d) For the lubrication of the conveyor chains use a brush, a dosage bottle or a spray!
3.5.2 Width adjustment

3.5.3 Fluxer in general
DANGER

a) The exhaust air system must be fitted by the machine owner!
b) The required exhaust air volume can be referred to in Chapter [Technical data]!
c) The fluxer unit must not be put into operation before reaching the required
amount of exhaust air!
NOTE
Observe the rules! Risk of fire!
a) Have the fire protection system assessed at the installation site!
b) Take the necessary measures provided for by the applicable laws and regulations!
DANGER
Risk of death or severe injuries due to flammable materials! Fire hazard!
ü When working in the fluxer area:
a) Make sure that the machine suction system is switched on!
DANGER
Severe or fatal injuries from flammable substances! Risk of fire!
a) Service at the fluxer system may only be performed by qualified staff.
b) The fluxer system may not be changed or manipulated in any way.
ð When replacing the spray heads:
c) Only the spray heads intended for this machine may be used.
CAUTION
Personal injury or material damage due to irritant substances!
The fluxer system is under pressure!
a) Service and maintenance work may only be performed by qualified staff which
has been trained accordingly.
ð When working on the fluxer system:
b) First de-pressurize the system.
CAUTION
Wear protective clothing!
a) Wear a face mask and protective gloves!

3.5.3.1 Flux material refilling
WARNING
Risk of death or severe injuries due to flammable materials! Fire hazard!
ü When performing any operation, observe the following safety rules:
a) The machine suction system must be switched on!
b) Read the safety data sheets of the flux material manufacturer!
c) Let the preheaters cool down: The temperature of the preheater must be clearly
below the flux material ignition temperature (also called self ignition point)!
d) Before applying the wrist earthing strap, make sure that it works properly!
e) Apply the wrist earthing strap and connect it to the equipotential bonding of the
machine!
f) Fill any removable flux material tanks outside the machine!
g) Remove immediately any spilled flux material and make sure that the room is suf-
ficiently ventilated. Restart the machine only after removing any residues!
3.5.4 Preheating in general
DANGER
Risk of burns from hot surfaces!
a) Touching the preheater during use is forbidden!
3.5.4.1 Preheater cleaning
DANGER
Risk of burns from hot surfaces!
a) Allow the heater to cool to room temperature before carrying out service and
cleaning work!
DANGER
Risk of personal and material damage due to flammable atmosphere!
a) Do not use flammable cleaning agents!
ð These can penetrate into the interior of the heater and ignite when switching
on again!
b) Immediately report any cracks or fissures in the glass plates!
c) Damaged glass plates must always be immediately replaced by qualified techni-
cians!
